About us

The Central & Eastern European Genetic Network
is a coalition of national patient and family support groups and also of individuals working together with science and industry, to raise awareness of the needs of these people and organisations and to promote medical genetic services, research, technologies, and access to medical treatment an to information , in order to alleviate the burden of genetic conditions for individuals, families and communities and to improve the quality of life of the involved families.

CEE Genetic Network was founded in October 2003 in Cavtat, Croatia at a meeting where representatives from 8 central and east European countries were present some of them representing many other disease specific patient organisations.
The alliance is currently preparing its registration in Hungary as a non-profitable organisation with the headquarter in Hungary.

CEE Genetic Network has a focus on the common needs of patients and their families related to the backward position of CEE countries and strives to facilitate their integration in the EU as a top priority.
CEE Genetic Network welcomes collaboration with organisations, institutions and societies which can contribute to achieving its goals
